Well, just because you lost your Gundam doesn't mean there's no mech you can use. I mean, there's plenty of mass-produced model mechs on the base, and last I checked, nobody was using Wing Gundam or the MkII.
Wing Gundam was stolen. But otherwise, yeah, I guess you're right. I may have a hard time adjusting to something like a Gespenst, though. All I've ever piloted are GINNs and G-Weapons.
There are probably plenty of spare machines lying around. I could even swing loaning you an Astray if you want something with a familiar control scheme.

Athrun. Maybe it's too soon and... maybe this is silly to ask, but could you tell me about your father? Before he was like that?
An Astray would probably be the best choice. I don't doubt that I'd be able to adapt to something like a Rick Dias, but I'd prefer something familiar.

My father was... Well, he was a man of duty. He was always fighting for the rights of the PLANTs, even before the war began. He and Siegel Clyne went way back. The two of them were the ones who founded ZAFT, actually.
But like I said, before the Bloody Valentine Tragedy, my father was still fighting for independence for the PLANTs. Back then, his views were a lot more in line with Mr. Clyne's regarding the relationship between Coordinators and Naturals. He was progressive, and he was an able leader.
I wouldn't be too sure about that. I've fought both against and alongside the Strike, but I've never actually used it. You have, so you're at least more familiar with its capabilities than I am.
That's probably true. But I've also had some unlucky sorties and that last one is pretty high up there. Besides, you've spent more time in the Aegis than I ever did in the Strike, and they were both made by Morganroete.
Just because the cockpits are similar doesn't mean the mobile suits handle similarly. The Strike and the Aegis have almost nothing in common beyond both being made by Morganroete, being Gundams, and possessing Phase Shift.
((Takes place after this. And Kira is still in SEED mode.))
Athrun, your father was not your enemy.
*Kira's voice sounds monotone, almost robotic. And he has a familiar gleam in his eyes. Its a gleam Athrun saw through the comm monitors. The time they were trying to kill each other.*
If you are referring to my comment. I simply mean that I believe Patrick Zala was a victim of hatred and grief and should not be blamed for his actions.
If you are referring to my state, it is because my SEED factor is active. It may be known better as my 'berserk' state, though I have since realized that is an inaccurate term.

And even the best pilots get unlucky sometimes.

[Athrun stops when he notices Kira's eyes.]
...Kira? Kira, what's going on?

And since you want to stay on with the GDF, I could always use another person on the Eternal. At least until you get another mobile suit.
