[You wake up and all you see are bright lights. You're hooked up to a machine, your vital signs are going strong, that's good. Really good. But, there's something strange with your head. It's not itchy, but there's just something odd... Oh well, no time to ponder, there's a panel waiting for you across the hall! The real test is if you've managed ( Read more... )

Very little really freaked Terezi out, though being stuck in a human medical facility with no clue how the fuck she got here came really close. Every surface she licked tasted like antiseptic, and she shuddered, relying mostly on smell from now on as she worked the panel and exited into the hallway.

Before she left, she captchalogued the water bottle, and ransacked the room for other things, captchaloguing the blanket, the pillow, and some miscellaneous medical supplies she found in the drawers of her hospital room. At least her captchalogue still had everything inside it. When she found an internet connection, she'd make sure to troll Karkat. He was probably flipping the fuck out right about now.

Tapping along with her cane as if she were completely blind - which she was - she adjusted her red sunglasses and shuffled down the hall, her nose testing the air for any signs of life - troll or otherwise - in this crazy alien place.

Terezi blinked at him behind her red glasses, snorted with laughter, then changed her mind and gave him a disgusted look. "Let's just make one thing clear right now - there isn't going to be any interspecies probing. None at all. For either of us. Got it?"

"Hey, I have no probing intentions. Scout's honor."

She patted his arm, wondering who Scout was. One of his friends? And what does that have to do with anything? "Glad to hear it!"

WELP. He wiped his cheek and made a face. He was going to pretend that didn't happen now if you don't mind.

"So... how 'bout in between clues we try and find m'squad, and we can find this Dave guy 'a yours?"

Terezi nodded, sobering a little as she turned back towards the unexplored hallway. "Sounds like a plan. Have you seen anyone else here?" she asked, starting forward again. "I woke up in some hospital, er...bed." The word was unfamiliar, but she knew it from her conversations with humans. "But last I remember I was on an asteroid orbiting Skaia in the Furthest Ring!"

Haggard gave a brief snort and followed.

"Yeah, last I checked I was in Sedaristan lookin' fer gold. I KINDA remember gettin' shot... then the same thin' happened t'me. Woke up here."

And actually answering her question--"Just you and this little girl."

"So you got shot, and woke up in a hospital," Terezi murmured, tapping her cane into the palm of her hand as she thought. "And I..." She frowned. "I was attacked from behind. I think I passed out."

Her hand came up thoughtfully, touching the side of her neck, where a small bandage was stuck. Her frown deepened. Who was the culprit? Probably the same one who had murdered Tavros! And now she was stuck on Earth instead of hunting down her suspect.

Then she stopped dead. "What little girl?"

"Yep. That's what usually happens in the army." Haggard kept his eyes peeled, looking around as they walked down hallways and corridors. It would have felt nice to have his shotgun again, this place looked creepy. Then again, it would have been nice to have his shotgun with him in general.

What--oh. He blinked. "Some kid, seven years old. I had t'take her to a doc."

"Oh," Terezi said. She didn't look around as they walked, but kept her nose to the air and even flicked out her tongue from time to time to taste. Corridors, corridors, boring boring corridors.

"Did you find a doctor to take the wriggler to?"

"Yeah. She was real grumpy. The doctor, not the pipsqueak."

Terezi stopped dead in her tracks. She turned her head to point her face over her shoulder at her human companion, seeming to look him up and down. "Hang on," she said slowly. "Didn't the doctor know anything about why we're here?"

Why in Jegus' name were they wandering around when he knew where a member of the staff was? She should be interrogated! Immediately!

Haggard shrugged.

"She wouldn't tell me nothin'! I dunno, everyone's actin' funny 'round here, I still got NO idea what the HELL's goin' on. I just been tryin' to look for my squad, see if they know somethin'."

Terezi considered this. Should they go back and interrogate the staff member? With the muscle this guy was packing, and her own special skills, it couldn't be that difficult to get this doctor to talk.

Or do they move forward into the unknown and hope to find someone more cooperative? Or even better, an ally in this madness, such as one of her own friends - at least one of the ones that wasn't a psychotic douchebag - or one of Haggard's squad.

"There's got to be more than two other people in this place," she decided firmly. "Let's keep going."

The only thing on Haggard's mine right now was finding Sarge and the others. Sarge would probably know what to do. He'd been wondering if he was at one of the army's hospitals, but he had a feeling little girls and aliens didn't run around those kind of places.

"Yeah..." He followed. "Sure wish I had my shotgun. Place's kinda spooky."

"Don't worry!" Terezi said cheerfully, tapping along with her cane like a somewhat reckless blind troll. "I'll protect you, Haggard."
