Hello, livejournal land! I just realized I haven't posted in wonks! Well, actually, I've been "realizing" that a lot over the past eight weeks or so. HOWEVER I just realized that I was going to post my posts from my "50 book challenge" thread over at LibraryThing. And the one I posted today seemed like a particularly apt place to get back to it. How do you manage to read so many books? I think I will go read some more Dawkins to stop feeling bad about this.

And I've never quite understood that quote at the end... a discussion with "diction"? Well, if that's what's important...

Well, he is an oratorical snob. And I'm pretty sure he means diction in opposition to blather and not diction in opposition to, I dunno, having a slight speech impediment. If that makes sense.

And I'm not quite sure how I manage to read so many books either . . . I think it has something to do with reading all the time? But then I also read periodicals, and I often start books and don't finish them, and I do my homework with alarming regularity, and I've been watching a lot of DVD's recently. Also I play electronic mind-wasters a bunch. So really, I have no idea.
