Manfred Ambivant (a.k.a., A Status Report)

While there's a lot of room to essay about Manfred lately, this one needs to be written most in the light of the twins' staggered arrival and the continuance of things in camp. Furthermore, I'm sorting out some of my OOC issues with my play style and characterization, and where better to do it than in a long ramble in my journal? Onwards.

Long - yes, boring - no.

I just finished reading Unclean Legacy, and your essay (and all the other essays you guys have done) and helping me to make sense of all the characters better. And the canon.

Wow, thanks! (Although I feel the need to attach the usual disclaimer that, lengthy exegeses aside, we're still just fans and are not really authorities on the material, and we're all a little off-canon anyway, YMMV, etc. Still, I'm glad it helps.)

For me, seeing other people's thoughts on the subject matter (in any canon, but we'll stick to this one) helps me put my own thoughts in order.

Plus I had to read it twice just to get the timeline in order.

Manfred does not have a couch right now, but when he gets one, Sophie is welcome to chill on it. (Er, presuming that the remainder of the residents of Boys' 8 don't do something terrible to it. If Axel sets the couch on fire, chilling is ill-advised.)

Anyway... yeah, I think we have a lot to play out. Christine's reactions are still pretty unclear, and since Francescu is more occupied with the Pyramid and outlying elements than with the Gargamels, Manfred and Sophie are going to have to stick together. It'll be just like old times, except without things ending badly. Hopefully.

Somehow, we need to get Manfred a couch. If only so that Sophie can chill on it, possibly while peeling something to make jams. Old-timey Gargamels FTW.

More seriously, There's definitely a lot that Manfred and Sophie need to discuss. We just seem to miss each other a lot, which is a sadness. I was thinking of doing a semi-locked post in which Sophie actually finds out that Christine is here and talks to people about what they should do. Cause in reading her opening post, there was talk of potential great violence, and, er, Sophie doesn't want the body that has her soul in it getting all dead and stuff. Thoughts?

Hmmm... I certainly wouldn't be opposed to having something semi-locked for discussion of the situation. I know Manfred wants to talk to Sophie about it, and it'd probably be valuable to have Francescu in on it.
