Strider/Aragorn/Elessar/Elfstone/Telcontar/Dún...er, Strider.
*snicker* Love that man, but he has rather a lot of names....
Nitpicks--
Isn't "turned to face whomever" actually correct? Because "turned to face him" would be correct...it's objective case, right? I might be wrong but I think "whom" is actually right there. Excellent point about people misusing it, though. Also "Wisebriar" seems vaguely canon-friendly to me...sort of....
Should be "Mary Sue went her merry way, probably in pursuit OF Sam", I think.
"YES YOU DO! YOU WANT ROSIE!!!!11!!!!!!!!111 YOU WANT TO MARRY HER AND HAVE THIRTEEN LITTLE HOBBIT KIDS! YOU WERE ON TOP OF MOUNT DOOM AND THE WORLD WAS EXPLODING AND SHE WAS ALL YOU COULD THINK ABOUT!!!!!"
YES! (Heh, I'm enjoying poor Sam's fate far too much, I suppose!)
*grins at ending with Rosie and Sam hologram*
Go you guys!

Not for long, though, because shortly I intend to post the piece with Isaiah being attacked by a grammasite in the cafeteria. Yay for Quen!

As a matter of fact, "turned to face whomever" is correct. However, what the author wrote was, "turned to face whomever it was." In this instance, although "whomever" is the object of "he turned to face," it is the subject of "it was." And being the subject of one clause trumps being the object of another clause. So, taking into account the full sentence, whoever is correct. :)
Also "Wisebriar" seems vaguely canon-friendly to me...sort of....It does, a little. Of course, that was Rosie's comment (both the agent's and the author's), so you'll have to take it up with her. I guess I trusted that ( ... )

Ah-ha! Now that does makes sense. I rather thought you wouldn't mix up who and whom, even if other, less-grammatically accurate people would, so I couldn't figure that out. "Who" sounds better there, too. :D Though I wonder if you should mention your reasoning in the actual PPC, in case someone else parses it the way I did and thinks the DTE incorrect? *hopes to preserve their reputation*
*g* Hah, yes, the grammasite! :) Poor Isaiah. *Quen pats his shoulder comfortingly*
Augh, hS has updated The Reorganization since last I read it, but hasn't finished it yet, thus leaving me, a reader, in the lurch... :(
