On the evening of Father's Day, my step father was admitted to the intensive care unit at our local hospital for advanced pneumonia. He was placed under heavy sedation and went into septic shock the following evening. He did not wake up, and yesterday's EEG scan showed minimal brain activity. He will not recover ( Read more... )

That's one of my biggest fears, being someone who gets pneumonia so frequently.

You are, of course, welcome here to talk. Joe's had a parent die, he can identify quite well with the mourning process. Let us know if there's anything we can do.

And don't make any life decisions for at least a year. Trust me. We're still recovering from Atlanta.

I wish I'd seen this before today. My heart aches for you and you rMom. :( I'm very sad for your loss of a wonderful man inyour life. He truly was a cool person.
