Lenalee looked up from the computer screen when she heard the knocking. "Coming!" she called, and, because she still had no idea about the strange workings of this 'computer box', she didn't bother shutting it off. She made a mental note to ask her brother more about this contraption and its functions, considering he would know more about these things than she would

Bookman waited patiently, though he heard the quick steps and saw the look of concern in Lenalee's eyes when she opened the door. He nodded quietly, offering a small smile of greeting, before he held out a hand to her. It was more than he offered most, but this was not the first time that he had witnessed the effect that stress had on the young Exorcist woman. Regardless of his position as Bookman, he was not without manners, and the warnings of danger she had only just heard of would probably make her hesitant in crossing the hall

She took Bookman's hand, feeling slightly hesitant as she remembered all the warnings of danger that had been given to her. Even though she was used to going into dangerous situations, this place presented a different kind. It felt like the same kind she had faced once, long ago, back then...

Her grip unconsciously tightened on his hand. "Sorry," she mumbled when she realized it, instantly loosening her hold. She had to get a hold of herself. Hiding in her room won't allow her to see her brother. Hiding won't let her help everyone else figure out how to get home.

First she would see Komui. She would hold him tight and have a nice little freak out session and get it out of her system. And then once she felt better, she would be able to go from there.

Bookman carefully shut the door behind Lenalee and led her down the hall. He pretended not to notice the squeeze to his hand, for there was no reason to either injure her pride or draw attention to her discomfort when his job was only to lead her to the Director's room. He was quiet a moment, reflecting as he had many times on what each person's abilities or even status could possibly mean to those in charge of their imprisonment
