He returned the smile and offered her an arm. he was still very nervous, but the usual reaction to nervousness took already over. That thing he would call extremeness, that thing that would have made Tsuna try to stop him or at least get him to a place where he would not ultimately ruin the talks.

Just that this time the excitement was not due to anger or impatiance, but because he really wanted to do everything right and make the evening (or whatever it was in this place9 a nice one.

"I thought that the cafeteria might be too noisy to the extreme, so I thought that it might be better to eat at my room? I have fetched some food from the cafeteria that I know to be... not as bad as the other food is..." Is voice trailed off, and he looked at Franziska, seeking for approval.

Franziska transferred her work to her other hand so that she could take Ryohei's offered arm. Conspicuously, her belt-whip was not with her for this outing, and it wasn't because she had merely forgotten about it. It was actually quite a compliment to how comfortable she was around Ryohei that she didn't have it.

"I think...that would be very nice," Franziska agreed, leaning into Ryohei a little as they continued down the hallway, toward the stairwell.

A happy smile was plastered over her face all the way to his room. The place might be awkward; the situation in general no less, intimidating, them being helpless, now way to oppose the invisible doctors... Yet with Franziska at his side, he was happier than he had been in a very long time. Even with Kyoko at his side, even when he visited Namimori back when it was still a peaceful place (Hibari was there and bit everybody to death who would disrupt the peace), he still knew about his duties, he was always alert. Never able to fully enjoy it.

But now there was nothing he could do about the situation; Hibari took care of belphegor; and the last murder had been a long time before; and Franziska was there with him, and he was just happy.

He stopped when they reached D floor and stared at the walls. The decoration must had been there before he left for Franzi's room, but he had totally not seen it. Yet...

"Pink hearts to the extreme?!"

Franziska, on the other hand, wasn't taking having nothing to do well at all, as evidenced by her insistence that she keep working despite people making it clear her services were neither necessary nor appreciated. It simply wasn't in her nature to enjoy time without any sort of work or obligation.

But Ryohei made that time more bearable, with his comforting presence, never questioning her determination or her methods, always helpful and yet concerned for her and her wellbeing...it was nice. Usually, men were intimidated by her, and did whatever she wanted them to out of fear, but not Ryohei: he seemed to honestly like her, for whatever reason. She didn't have to order him to do anything (and never would), no, he offered. It was...a new experience.

When Ryohei remarked on the pink hearts, Franziska raised an eyebrow and examined them. "Foolishness..." she muttered. Although had she taken the time to look closer, she probably would have appreciated the perfection and precision with which they were both crafted and attached to the

He spotted Mukuro and Kid and his eyes became suddenly clouded. It had been a long time since he had seen the mist guardian last... They had not met since Ryohei had come to the asylum, and before that...

He tried to shake the memory off. There was something much more important now... Mukuro would not be able to answer his questions, anyway. Questions that had bugged him ever since Chrome had suddenly collapsed. What had happened? Why had the connection been cut off? What had he done... Was he dead? But this Mukuro was not dead, he was not even a semi-member of the Vongola yet. He was just a 16 year old criminal that would eventually become the legendary Vongola mist guardian. Later... Much later ( ... )
