Gene was bored. He was thinking about going down to the game room. Something to do. He wasn't worried about wandering around alone; too many people were patrolling, and he wasn't a pushover. And in fact, there was one of the patrollers now. He grinned. His neighbor looked about as bored as he was.

"Hey, Firo. What's going on?"

Firo lifted his head and glanced at Gene, grinning back. "Hey, yourself." He shrugged, and then let out a sigh that spoke the obvious. "Absolutely nothing. Which I guess is good in a way, but it's still kinda boring." But he did volunteer for this, and he wasn't going to let Garrus or anyone else down.

"How about you?"

He shrugged. "Well, boring means there's no death and dismemberment, so I guess that's good. But I don't like boring." His life up until now had been anything but boring; having a forced vacation wasn't exactly fun.

"I was gonna go down to the game room and see if there was anything worth doing. And maybe throw stuff at Rex. How's stuff going for you?"

"Same here," the boy smirked. He was glad he didn't have to explain, but then with how everything had been lately, it was pretty obvious what was meant.

Firo still hadn't been able to go down to the game room for another round with Garrus, but then the Turian had been kind of busy, first with getting over a cold and then taking up the responsibility of ensuring everyone else's safety. "There's a shooting game in there. Not very accurate if you ask me, but it's something to pass the time. I kinda like the air hockey table thing too." He laughed. "But throwing stuff at the plant sounds worthwhile too. Think it'd be affected by any of the food in the cafeteria?" Firo had never really attempted to try provoking the thing, and the closest he'd ever gotten to Rex was when the thing was in hibernation and surrounded by a wall of vines.

"Stuff...? 's been all right I guess. Things have calmed down a bit, at least." It was also nice having Ennis back after she'd been making sure Liet would be all right.
