He spends about a half hour staring at the phone before he realizes what he's doing. Henry's not usually one to use the phone, unless he has to- he's hard enough to understand in person sometimes. And he's especially leery of it now when he's fairly sure he's over-reacting

It rang three times before he answered.

"'lo?" He sounded tired, as if maybe he'd just woken up.

"Warren?" Well, he got him, at least. Oh, damn, what if he's in a different timezone and he woke him up in the middle of the night? Henry frowns. "I'm sorry to bug you, man...I just wanted to check up, see how you were. I noticed you took Snuffles with you...."

"Jean-Paul and I are done,' he muttered, making a small clicking sound before wet licking was heard. "Stop it, Snuffles. It's not Daddy. Stop."

He sighed, shifting the phone. "He took off. Guess being clean wasn't worth it. Guess I wasn't, ya know?"

Oh.

"Warren....I'm so sorry. Damn." And there wasn't much more he could say than that. He was stunned, but....he never really understood Jean-Paul or their relationship very well. He doesn't understand any relationship well, actually, except for what he has with Liz. He tries, but...

The thing he usually does when someone is hurting is offer advice, and he can't even pretend he knows what he's talking about here. So he doesn't try. All he says is, "...come home, son. Please?"
