Not the eggs!!!

I was hoping for no egg job!! Man, couldn't he have been a cage fighter or something? I do not like this one bit...Spike is really walking in deep water here. After all the time he's gone without her, you'd think he wouldn't jeopardize making her think he was a monster. Guess he cares more about keeping her secure than being with her...which is not so hard to understand. This IS FTTP William/Spike we're talking about. He lives to see her happy and doesn't mind the misery

Mm, Spike cage fighting. There could be oil of some sort. :P Actually, a lot of people thought that Spike was engaged in some sort of demon fight club, which pleased me because that way they were surprised when it turned out he was doing this instead.

Exactly. He is willing to risk everything because he is desperate. In his mind, he has only two options: engage in business that is clearly immoral to make money, or stand by and watch Buffy drown. Naturally, he cannot bear to do the latter.
I think a lot of people cheered when Willow finally realized she was being a freeloader. You've got to love Anya for finally pointing it out. :P
As for the ring ... well, I will refrain from commenting right now. I hope you understand. :)
SO how many chapters to go? Two..then epilogue? I think that is probably correct. However, I could end up veering off the intended path and writing five or six more chapters. It depends on the Muse,

Ya I do...but its soooo frustrating. You know, I believe the ring should take a bow at the end of this story and get a standing ovation. It totally deserves a best supporting role in fanfic or something--it kind is like a living and breathing thing.

lol. I'm afraid of answering your post for fear I will give away a plot secret. But, really, I'm not evil! I am, however, very grateful that you are continuing to read and review. (((hugs))) Thanks, sweetie. :-)
Oh, gosh. I knew it was going to be pretty bad! Poor Spike.. He just doesn't seem to be able to tell right from wrong. And, uh, I cringe to think what would happen, should those all hatch while still in Sunnydale.
Good chapter.. I guess it's a nice shift and build up after last week's fluffy bit. I missed having more B/S interaction though. :/
It strikes me as so strange and tragic that they're both oblivious to the needs of one other (her inability to see his 'weirdness' and his inability to discern what she'd clearly have a problem with.
Don't worry, there will be more B/S interaction in the next chapter. Actually, a great deal more if I'm estimating correctly.
I think right now their wires have been crossed. Spike knows he is doing something that has the potential to make her leave him, but he's so desperate to help her financially that he's willing to risk everything in order to do so. As for Buffy ... well, she has her reasons as well.
LOL I'm so embarrassed that I didn't realize these were the "As You Were" eggs.. You just described them so much bigger and such. As I was reading I just assumed there are loads of eggs that could exist for Spike to profit from. It also never occurred to me that you'd get back on the real time line at some point. Oh well! To be fair, it was my last day of classes the night I read it and I was, perhaps, slightly inebriated. Maybe a clear-minded Hannah would've figured that out. (BTW, this is the Hannah that posted on Nocturnal Light's tag board one time.. I just since found a link to your LJ and prefer the instanty goodness of these updates to looking at those archies. *waves*)
