He wondered if it meant something was wrong with him. Should not men prefer to subjugate women.
Spike in his 19th century way was thinking but he is dealing with Buffy now.

“Go home and stop being such a manipulative ass!”
And that last line was hilarious - just right for a thoroughly modern Buffy and a Spike who was showing a little too much self-pity.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it, particularly the last line. It was probably my favorite to write. :)

Gotta love a Buffy who brings books from the 20th century to an already confused man from the 19th century...

And I love the last line.

Hee. She means well, but that definitely wasn't the most well thought out of plans.

And I love the last line.

I'm so glad. Thank you! :D

Hee! That's telling 'im. I felt for Cecily in this case, though I'm sure she will reverse my feeling when she displays her true colors.

I'm glad you mentioned this, because I'm trying something a little different with Cecily. Usually, she's portrayed as, for lack of a better term, a straight-up bitch in fanfiction. I wrote her that way myself in FtTP. In this story, I wanted to flesh her out and make her more of a three dimensional character instead of a villain.
