Gene was absolutely knackered. It'd been a long day - no, scrap that, it had been a long few days. Kidnapping case - especially when children were involved - were always draining both mentally and physically. Gene hadn't even bothered going to the pub, that's how exhausted he was

Gene wasn't the only one who was knackered. Sam was too but that was to be expected. They'd been on the same case, after all. Done a lot of things to get everything in order. Catch the kidnappers and get the kiddies home safe. So his coat follows Gene's and he just slips to the floor beside the sofa. He'll get up in a minute and sit beside the other man. Eventually.

Sofa is much comfier than the floor, Sam. Gene lit a cigarette and took a long drag, welcoming the feel of smoke and tar filling his lungs. Much better.

He unwrapped the chips and held them out. "Here, tuck in." Food. Food was good.

Of course the sofa is a lot comfier than the floor. However, he doesn't feel like getting up damnit. Not yet anyway. He does, however, take the offered food and start eating it.

Mmm... really damn good.

"I'm glad today is over. Thought we'd never see the end of it. Glad those kids came out of it alright." He munched on a chip and reached for the bottle of scotch.

He took a swig from the bottle before offering it Sam.

Yes, well, it isn't like they've not done worse. So it isn't going to bother him. In fact, he quite likes the weight of the Guv there. It's... nice.

Yes. Gene learned the hard lesson that bath sex is uncomfortable and bad for the back. No, cuddling in the bath is much nicer.

Cuddling in the bath was a WHOLE lot nicer. It felt good is what it did. He was so comfortable and that hot water felt nice against his skin that he was tempted to fall asleep right there.

Falling asleep in the bath is bad, Sammy, bad. Gene will leave you there if you fall asleep! He grabs the washcloth and lathers it up with soap to wash Sam's back.

It takes a few moments but he eventually comes back upstairs with a cuppa for them both and some Garibaldis.

See, Sam. This is why Gene loves you. You're the perfect little kitty. Gene smirks. "What took you so long?"

"I'm feeding two people not just one," he says with a chuckle. "And had to figure out how to get it up to us first."

"Didn't think you had any trouble getting it up," Gene teases, smirking.
