Daniel did come home eventually, but he had one arm curled under the laptop and was using the other to type something on the keyboard. "William down?" he murmured, not looking up at Vala to see her response. He'd already forgotten his work on the sociopolitical culture of the island and had, in fact, forgotten almost everything except his classes and that was because Guy hounded him whenever he so much as thought about being even a few minutes late to a class.
He sat on the edge of the bed and put the laptop on his legs, glad for the ability to use two hands now.
Daniel snatched the laptop out from under her just in time. "What are you doing?" he snapped, making sure the thing didn't have any damage. "Back home you might have been able to break a laptop or my glasses," he added pointedly, "but here I only have a finite supply. Just one."

I moved forward and straddled his knees and began to descend. I wasn't too concerned about sitting right on the laptop.
