The machines make quite a bit of noise, I think that those living on the floors that have them have some right to be annoyed. I know that I am personally grateful that I do not have them outside my door.

Is it worth it to play the machines at all, statistics and probabilities aside, if, in the end as I so suspect, the money disappears as the machines are sure to?

This city makes more noise than our Greece ever did. If you have learned to endure that noise, why could they not adapt to the machines as well?

Of course not.

I have been here but at day, but certainly the building itself is not so loud? I am used to the loud back home, wars are far from quiet.

I suppose it is a novelty, an amusement for some, though. It seemed to make my sister happy and I should never deny her any such thing.

Even people in war needed rest at times. This city never quiets.

I would deny no one the happiness of playing so long as they understand the consequences.

Some do not see the harm in it. They incite happiness in themselves and care not for what they waste at times.

I haven't moved from my room in over a day now. It is a tolerable solution.

I was asked to obtain Brandy for you. Did you receive it?

Mortal ailments are desperately unpleasant but I will endure. It is not fatal but if it were, it would not worry me unduly to be guided to my home by trusted servants.

I did. Many thanks, Phonos.
