Wow. Okay. Here comes something I never thought would happen. I'm going to talk about something vaguely political. WHAT. I know, right. I was surprised too.
I've been keeping loose tabs on this whole thing since it got rolling, and when I heard that McGuinty had pussied out, I was pissed, but unfortunately, not suprised.
These changes NEED to happen. Do we really want impresionable youth to gleen all of their Sex Knowledge from the media and older kids? Cause I'm pretty sure THAT'S what's been fucking them up. No one has the stones to sit down with thses kids and explain the truth of sex, because it makes some people uncomfortable.
The whole mess makes me want to wretch and smack some sense into McGuinty and all those who think that being honest and open with kids is going to turn them into little sex maniacs.
P.S. - I STILL remember those damn Fully Alive books. They were awful. I can actually recall reading a section of the book that touched on having 'confusing feelings' for someone of the same gender. The book's explanation: It's just a phase; you'll get over it.
Yeah, the fact that it's off the table now is not surprising at all. *sigh* Lots of kids have older siblings or friends or access to the internet, and that's just going to fully mess them up if they're not educated properly.
Everyone gets over their homosexual feelings eventually, though right? You know, after they have a happy lesbian life, plenty of kids and a nice house and then die, right? That gets them over it, I think.
First: AUGH. I can't believe I actually read this on your itty bitty font grey-on-grey journal. My eyes are now bleeding. Very awkward at work.
Second: I need to go to Parliament. To smack McGuinty, apparently. As someone educated to be an educator (I know, WHAT?!) I really felt strongly about this. Add to that fact that I myself am a person who needed that education, I really felt strongly about it
( ... )
First: 'crtl and +' will make the font bigger. And attaching '?format=light' will get rid of my layout.
Second: I think ol' Dalton just needs a hug and firm hand. He'll be alright, he just needs to stand up and be able to say 'guys, we worked really hard on this, why don't you read all 208 pages and then freak out, k?'
(People will note I have read the whole 208 pages and I super like it.)

I don't know. I get frustrated.

True, I guess I'm just so used to being mad at him for something.
