I like how UCSB is the first "real" winner. It is totally unsurprising that UGs here want branded underwear, considering they wear very little else (the UCSB-branded booty shorts are a perennial favorite, whether out jogging or giving a presentation worth 20% of their grade).

They can hire all the Mudders they want, but the short of it is that enforcing the rules on an anonymous poll is hard. You can't trust the voters to be honest (as shown above), and you can't trust yourself to distinguish voters correctly (any given IP address could be a NAT box with thousands of people behind it, for instance). Sure, they could have used an actual captcha instead of a Completely Automated Program that doesn't actually Tell Computers and Humans Apart, but I really can't think of a way to defeat the original script we used.

I feel the same way. I defn has my share of bad moments, but sometimes I'm so proud of the kind of people that make up that school. :)
