Solon lowered Shirley's limp body into the throne. "There. She makes a very pretty picture, don't you think?"
Jay clenched his hands into fists. "Don't subject her to your sick fantasies." He meant it to be harsh, but it came out in almost a whisper.
The corner of Solon's mouth quirked up in a smile. "Oh? Do you actually have some sort of regard for this girl?" The smile turned predatory. "If that's so, then how come you sold her to me so easily?"
Jay kept his gaze downward.
"Or are you feeling regret for what you've done?" He could hear Solon's footsteps, as the other man circled him. It wasn't a pleasant sound. "But that's impossible too, isn't it? After all, it is you. How many other people have you sold, hmm? How many times have you abused the trust that's been given to you? How much blood is on your hands?"
"Sh-shut up!"
"Oh, dear me. I seem to have hit a nerve." Solon moved closer now. "Tell me, Jay," he whispered in Jay's ear. "You love me, don't you?"
Jay dug his fingernails into his palms. "--no."
Solon laughed and, mocking, placed a kiss on Jay's cheek.
