Hiatus from Hell Survival, pt 1.09

I think I'm going to revamp my rating scheme.  Having the half stars just gives me too many choices.  I don't do well with too many choices.

First of all, the photo of Jenny & her husband?  Ugliest. Wedding gown. Ever!

"Home" is probably the third episode where I realized just how talented Jensen Ackles really is.  When Sam tells Dean about his ( Read more... )

Hey, the kid's little - he just knows there's juice in the fridge. (Marirose commented on the fact that the inside racks were missing in the fridge.) I always speculated that the nasty poltergeist was hubby - maybe he was pissed off when he died that his family didn't die with him?

I remember best about "Home" when it first aired, a friend I was trying to corrupt introduce the show to, said she loved it - "I saw the booga-booga coming and jumped and screamed anyway" (the infamous hand munch)

"Home" remains one of my favorites.

I had no idea about the missing shelf. That Marirose is quite observant! That little kid who played Richie was a terrific little actor. I'm always amazed that a kid that young could do what they asked of him.

Yeah, that garbage disposal scene. I think I went into the other room. There have been a couple times that I've actually changed channels momentarily. Yep, I'm a wimp.

Now that you've mentioned the old gas stations, I've been thinking. They must actively search out these old places, because I cannot think of one I've seen in years that's still in business. Auto shops and motels, sure, but not gas stations. They're all chain convenience stores now. And I'm including parts of Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, since I did a road trip through those states a few years ago. Maybe Dean likes those because the fake credit cards don't get processed immediately upon use.

Yep, even in the ruralist of America, gas stations are all chain convenient stores. Even in podunk Glidden, Iowa. However, those types of stations wouldn't lend much atmosphere to the show. ;)

I'm trying to remember where the heck I was...I think it was on the way to Kazcon...where I stopped for gas, and the pumps were so old that they didn't accept credit cards and they had a rotary display instead of digital to show how much gas you pumped and how much it cost. It was very, very rural. It took me awhile to find the town after I pulled off the highway.

I noticed the missing racks, too. The kid wouldn't fit if they were in there! But like always, I can rationalize that away...maybe they were glass and broke and she hasn't had time to replace them yet. :)

Re: the gas stations...I haven't read that they said this for sure, but it seems to me they probably find abandoned buildings and dress them up. Sometimes the same one, even.

Yep, it's amazing what I can rationalize about the show. (I'm talking about the gas stations, since I didn't notice the missing frig shelf.)

I believe I read that they create the gas stations, too. After all, the Mobil Quickie Mart would lend much atmosphere to the show. :)
