I am so relieved that so many people didn't get the Smith and Wesson thing, but I still get the shame award since My Mother Worked There.
I think Wessen was spelled wrong in Sam's cubicle, which helps explain how we missed it. :)
You totally called it. I thought it was masterfully done, and I agree with the Sam missing part--with one grudging caveat. I think there's a lot of symbolism in the episode. For example, Zachariah took BOTH Sam's and Dean's memories and put them TOGETHER to do the job, which to me indicates that the angels (and maybe that means God, too) are acknowledging that they go together and Dean won't succeed without Sam. So Sam not being part of the final scene may be saying "hey, they worked great together again and all, but it's not over, there's still a rift here!" 'Cause of course there is.

Um, except that I didn't know it was misspelled. =:0
Good thought about Sam & Dean being a unit. I'm certainly not going to get in a snit about it becoming "The Dean Show." After all, the show's gone through phases for each bro at times.
But, why does Fabio have to be Dean? Because he's the ladies man? (Some are saying it's Sam because of the long hair and super-chiseled chest.)

But you didn't have to admit that! LOL

*snort* No. I don't think of Fabio as a ladies man. They're both blond. But the artist wouldn't know that. So... I would say Fabio is Dean because reader reaction to Dean matches the kind of heroes Fabio usually depicts. :)
But honestly, the reason isn't organic to the show, it's how the writers want it to be, and I think they'd be gleeful making Dean Fabio.

Fabio! It's gotta be Dean, of course.
