Blah blah blah...

1. So, I hear via erinrua that there has been wank regarding Jared's trip to Argentina. Oooookay. I guess there wasn't anything else to wank about, eh?

One of the things that has pleased me immensely about the hiatus is that it's given me a chance to step back from the fandom. Except that my "beef" is with the show, not the fandom. I find the fandom ( Read more... )

See, if you had been able to move back to Iowa this year, we'd both have someone to go to these movies with. :D I have a friend here I've convinced to watch Supernatural, but she won't even consider MBV3D or Ft13th. Maybe my brother will go.

Still trying to squeeze in The Christmas Cottage. I was going to watch it a couple nights ago, but then I came across a repeat of the Summer Olympics Opening Ceremonies, which I'd missed the first time around.

Now that's a thought! Move back to Iowa so I can have someone to see slasher movies with. Hee!

You know, I haven't watched the Olympics since... I was in college? (Never watched tv then, didn't even miss it!)... came back from Italy? (No American tv in Italy.)

ETA: new icon. Probably need to write "Wish you were here" on it. It was filmed in Belize.

Okay, so I'm commenting again, since I just finished watching The Christmas Cottage. Finally. I won't say it's the most amazing movie ever made, because it certainly had it's share of issues, but I thought it was sweet. And I'm giving all credit for that to the performances. Tanya, the Miss Placerville Forever chick was over the top, but everyone else was great at creating believable small town characters. Definitely more realistic than the lovable yet weird Gilmore Girls townsfolk, heh. Okay, Chris Elliot's wig was over the top, too, but the rest of him was fine. Poor Aaron Ashmore, though, Pat didn't even get a personality.

Jared was indeed great, although I nearly started counting how many ways he could look sad. And I would have loved to see him blow up after he found out his dad was broke and really didn't feel any obligation to the family.

I really should have an icon of Jared's shaggy 70s mane. :D

Yay, you finished The Christmas Cottage. Yes, Jared's '70s shaggy mane is lovely. I believe there are a few screencaps somewhere. I'll look for them. (I know jared_stillness had a contest from the movie, so she got the screencaps from somewhere.) And did you notice the picture at the end? The one with the real Thom & Glen? Turns out Jared wasn't too far in appearance from 1970's Thomas Kinkade. (Altho I'm sure he was much much taller!) Here's hoping that Jared ages better than TK!

Ok, the screencaps are here:

There's 6 of them, 4 of them featuring shaggy mane. *off to make iconz*

I'm sure you saw my comments back when I watched the movie. The performances were all great, but the film suffered from its own (and Kinkade's) self-importance. I'm not sure more will be made, since this one didn't make any big splash.

I'd say go see MBV and Ft13th alone, but *I* won't even do that! LOL
