I've heard from my friend (the other poster who did a manga coloring on this comm) that the end is awesome. On the other hand, she can read Japanese and I cannot. Woes.
Actually, I would disagree with you on that point. Your coloring is beautiful! I love your colors, just basic and sticking to the main scheme of the original. Do you take requests?
As per coloring manga, you need to choose a color that's only a little darker than the base of your skin. If you're using Photoshop, trying eyedropping the skin color and going just a little below it. (Unless that color looks totally weird.) It needs to be noticeable to show up, but not stand out. (That's the hard part.)
If you're trying to subtly shade a large area, I would use a large, soft brush and set the opacity and flow reaaaaally low. Like, 30% and below. Then I kept going over the desired area until the color showed up but it didn't stand out. I think for gradual transition you just place light areas by clicking the spot once or twice then mixing it with the highlight. You can always set the opacity of the layer lower if you mess up.
lol, funny thing with me. I went to Borders and they were stocking one volume into the bookshelf. I go away for 5 minutes and it's gone when I come back. XD I'm sure I'll buy it someday, if only the masses would be less persistent...

I probably will be soon, since we recently hit 25 watchers. I take forever to color manga, though.

Hope that helps!
