They're not immature enough to hate someone simply for being friends with another. Something I can't say for other fandoms, which makes me sad. I've been glad to see I'm not the only person who believes this, that I'm not the only person who doesn't understand the illogical reasons for hating a person you don't even know... I just think it's sad, that's all.
...I think it's sad you're convinced that's the only reason we don't like him. Nagayan's been friends with lots of people before, hung out with others far more often than people we'd like to see him with, before and after Gaku entered the picture. And I've never been as irked with ANY of them as I am with this guy

I just don't see where it comes from. I can remember when it started, because I was still into txn then. With their little street performances and a really long spell of there being no mention of Tuti and the Decossam stuff hadn't come out yet. I can remember that's when people started to dislike him, and I didn't get it then. And now I still don't understand it, because the only time there seems to be hating towards him, it has to do with Nagayan. I have tried to understand it, to see why, but I don't see it as all these people hating this one guy. Sure, there's teasing and making fun of, but it always seems to be in jest. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough for a reason to be irritated by him though. I look at it and go "He's just another friend."
The dislike I and others (not ALL others) feel towards Gaku was not a, "Ugh, he's taking a picture with Nagayan! Stop moving in on Tuti's territory!" it was a slow evolution. I can go back in my journal and find posts where I was either fond of him, or didn't care that he hung out with Nagayan, seeing as Nagayan hangs out with tons of NotTuti!people.
Many of us didn't wake up one day and hop on the GakuHate-train--because it took a bunch of stuff for us to really work up dislike for someone who is thousands of miles away and shouldn't mean anything to us.
I could (well, DID really) write an essay on what personally ticks me off about him, and while a good portion of it has to do with Nagayan, not much of it has to do with Tuti/Nagayan at this point

Okay, yes, it has more to do with Nagayan than Tuti, but I remember lots of it really started because Valentines was spent with Gaku. And with a beginning like that, it does come across as a pairing issue

I don't get the hate either--even with all the reasoning and stuff, it just doesn't add up for me. It's just... so much hate for a person that you only know through blogs, or a couple productions. It seems like such a waste of energy. It gives me the same uneasy feelings as the Hinoai hatefests--why bother? I rag on actors, yeah, like I think Katou is a crap actor and not really all that great, and Eiki's version of Taka makes me want to shoot something.... but they're not things I'd bother obsessing over

Yeah, it's been a while since I've jumped on teh Hinoai hate train. Her prices are still high, but she's changed, brought back her comm, and I'm willing to not even care. It's such a waste of energy.
EVERYONE SHOULD SEE ONLINE FOR THE CANON SLASH. Eito/Macchi forever XD
Although... Haha, that thing about making strange pairings. I'd be a hypocrite if I said I haven't done that -- hell, I was a KoniiSai and SaiAi fangirl at one point, but (for me, at least) those particular fascinations died when the hype of the respective movies disappeared. Now that I think of it, I wasn't shipping the actors -- I was shipping the characters, so... I guess that shouldn't count as a strange pairing, then?
A friend and I were discussing just the other day about how a lot of new fans just fangirl for the sake of fangirling, just mindlessly squeeing with the rest of us whenever new info comes up. It's annoying how a lot of them never stop to think of why they like who they like other than because "he looks really good as Oishi!" or other similar reasons.
