I love the AB one; it's pretty. But the other... I wanted to sort of emulate a magazine cover, but it's too busy and the colors look a little warped. So this is "prototype 1" because I'm going to try to make it a little better. Probably. Knowing me, I'll get lazy and leave it as is. Oh, both of ( Read more... )

AB one is awesome!

As for Summer...hmmm. First, I'm not really understanding the font...not all the letters are the same. All the 'E's look different. I would also move "Rayne" up so that it isn't behind "Exchange". You also need a uniform border of space around the whole thing for all the words. For example, "Exchange" hits the sides and bottom of the picture and the "Fall" hits the side. But "Rayne" doesn't hit that left side and " '09" doesn't hit the right side. They all need to do the same thing.

I'm also thinking the problem maybe in the yellow filter. I'm not understanding how it doesn't cover her face. The only other parts not covering the image are letter shaped but the space around her face doesn't really have a specific form. I think I would try removing the yellow for now until you get an design you like and then trying for the yellow again.

Hope I'm not bothering you...you don't have to try these things. It's just some stuff I learned in my graphic design course.

Yeah, the font's weird. The one's that are filled in are lower case. I'm still bad with text - I never think it looks right no matter what I do. That makes a lot of sense, though, what you said - I will definitely remember that!

Yeah, the yellow... I totally agree - it's too yellow. I wanted a pretty fall orange-ish color, but I couldn't really get it. Heh - the reason it's not on her face is because I did a mask layer with just the texture on her face so I could soften it up a little (because it looked even weirder when her face was yellow) and then I did a mask excluding her face with the rest of the texture.

Ha ha - I really have no idea what I'm doing; I kind of just go in blindly and hope everything comes out all right. :P You're right, though - fix the design and then try to color-ify it. Heh.

Thanks for the advice! No, you're not bothering me at all. I can always use the help. Ooh, I would love to take a graphic design course - that sounds fantastic! Heh, maybe if I have some free time in my schedule...^_
