Next month is going to be brutal for manga releases, esp. if Furuba 12 turns up ahead of schedule. Kenshin, Death Note, Basara, Monster (assuming vol. 1 turns up between now and then), *and* Hot Gimmick are all slated. How will I ever survive? ^^ (And when did I start buying only Viz properties, Furuba notwithstanding? It's a miracle their X

Omg FAKE! This series is a sentimental "first" for me. My first yaoi anime...and my first yaoi manga. The manga is very cute (Ryo reminds me of Kureno if he were ever kidnapped by yaoi fandom), and unlike other mangas, Matoh's artwork actually improves as the volumes progress. The relationship progression of the two main characters starts to drag towards the middle of the series, but the last volume is a good finish, in my opinion. The anime is an OAV based on a story in the second volume, but it's also good as a standalone. I saw the ( ... )

Fake might actually be my first yaoi too, although since I'm not a yaoi fan the sentimental value is somewhat less. ^^ (And I can only call it my 'first' if I blank out Zetsuai/Bronze . . . which I think I will, thank you. O_O) I'm not sure how many volumes I've read, so I hope I haven't missed any. What I read of it before was fun, and I remember being very impressed with the way the kissing was drawn. *laughs* Odd thing to notice, but it's usually done so awkwardly . . .
Bed now. *cries* It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't take an hour or two to get to sleep . . . (My brain and I are just not on good terms lately. *sighs*)

I was also impressed with the kissing in FAKE. I also like the way the muscle tone was drawn on the characters.

Um, no, I don't really have anything to contribute. Why do you ask? *__*
Okay, okay, I'll try. Did you know that in the manga, for a while anyway, Sorata calls Karen "oneesan?" That + his habit of using "neechan" on Arashi, makes me think that using "Miss" as the translation for the word really makes the most sense... Sorata just uses the word in a really standard way (he called Arashi "neechan" before he knew her name or even who she was). For that reason, it sort of bugs me when it gets translated as "babe" or even "sis," but then again I'm weird like that. :/
Sorata/Yuuto is like my X crack OTP. XD Like hell they weren't flirting. I don't remember the anime's version, but Sorata introduces himself to Yuuto as a "cute high school 2nd year with brown eyes." XD The loser. <3
I have to say, though, the anime has no Keiichi OR frog!girl, and is thus forever insuperior to the manga. *le sigh* It's just a fact, y'know?
this post contributes nothing!!

Sorata/Yuuto is really adorable, in a sick kinda way. ^^ I really like that Sora has fun with the whole saving-the-world thing, unlike everyone else.

Well, Karen and Yuuto's fight was pretty amusing too. "Oh look, now I'm all wet. *SIGH* My makeup must be ruined." "I bet you're prettier without makeup!" *bangboomfight* "Oh, that's nice of you to say. By the way, your water fighting is so impressive!" "Oh, thank you! But I'm really too old for all this." "Old? Nonesense! You're still quite young!" "Thank you!" And so on. XD;; Karen and Yuuto and Sorata just don't seem to have the whole "urgency" thing down ( ... )

but can you really picture Arashi tolerating being called "babe?"
*laughs* Well, not so much when you put it that way. I've never actually *liked* that translation--it just struck me as the lesser of some really ugly evils. (And she does seem to wind up being resigned to an awful lot, poor thing.)
Now, check me on this, because I'm not sure . . . I've been assuming that his hospitalization scene is the first time he actually uses her name. (Trying to be a little vague for the sake of my cut-tag that says there aren't spoilers in this post. ^^) Is that right?
I'm going with "Yuuto, the surprisingly chipper sociopath", personally. ^^

I know Alyson Hannigan did a few eps of Veronica Mars in the first season, and I thought I'd heard that she had been signed to do more. Maybe that's the one you're thinking of? I saw one ep. Was okay. Didn't love.
Last year, I heard people raving about Lost and Desperate Housewives, so I dl'd an episode of each, figuring I'd give it a shot. ugh. Turned both off without finishing the episode. *wrinkles nose*

Veronica Mars is one of the shows I'd heard was really good. Hmm, the IMDb shows Alyson in four eps . . . including one slated for next Feb. I guess I'll be forced to check that out. (Even if it's not amazing, I can survive a lot if I could get through the sitcom. -_-)
Lost and Desperate Housewives (without the italics it looks like an even funnier single title ^^) are the two shows that I just assumed were reality tv when I heard about them. Didn't notice the difference until I saw Teri Hatcher on a magazine cover. >.> myJason was raving about season one of Lost, but I keep hearing this season isn't any good. I'm very sure Desperate Housewives isn't my thing, though.
