I went to high school with Lynda Collins. When I read about her becoming Elaan's legal, second mother without being romantically involved with Natasha, it just seemed like something she would do. Her quotes about how they approached the challenge together (Globe & Mail article), her unfailing optimism about it and Elaan's life, reminded me of what she was like as a girl. She hasn't changed at all and I think that's marvelous. She was always going to go her own way, do her own thing.
