( I meant to write something brief, and this post got away from me a bit; it's mostly personal reflections on Leonard Nimoy's death. I'm cutting it for those who've already had as much as they can handle, in whatever way, of this sort of thing today. (And there are a few links at the end, because that's apparently what I do.) )

I was very touched that you called your dad. That was a really thoughtful thing to do. ♥ I'm glad that you have that link with him.

We never watched TOS when I was young (I would have been 12/13 during the first year), and I'm not quite sure why. I'm sure my parents would have thought it silly; they would have neither banned it nor encouraged it. I did not inherit my geekiness from them. :P

I don't actually know when my dad got into the show, but I'm so glad he did.

It's just so strange to think that Leonard Nimoy isn't in our world anymore. And sad as I was when DeForest Kelley and James Doohan died, I don't remember feeling so strange about the thought that they were gone, as well as sad. Nimoy's existence just felt like such a constant, somehow.
