This somehow became a post primarily about book organization

Ah, the first day of a new month, when I almost invariably remember that I meant to hit up my not-in-library Goodreads tag and go make ten suggestions for purchase on the library website. (You can make ten per month; for some reason I always think of it towards the end of the month and then don't get around to it. I could've requested dozens of ( Read more... )

Seeing as we HAVE the kittens, we could hardly let them go to waste when photographing the books! ^_^

We were curious about the Marion Zimmer Bradley thing, so we looked her up on Wikipedia, and if it's the abuse thing...granted, all we know is what it says at Wikipedia, but the claims could be false. For example, one of our aunts swears she was sexually abused by our grandfather, but another one who shared a bunk with her is adamant that nothing of that sort happened.

...this isn't a line of discussion I want to pursue, but I have read rather a lot more about the situation than that (and always do, before coming to a conclusion), including lengthy excerpts from court depositions in her ex-husband's trial. And I'm really not getting into specifics on that because there isn't a trigger warning on this post, and there's some deeply ugly stuff in there.

Eh heh heh, I know I have a bad habit of arguing about a lot of things, but I promise that was not my intent this time. And I also promise that I wasn't trying to write the victim off as a liar. All I wanted to do was point out the possibility that you might not have to give up on an author that you once liked. Like I said, we didn't do any research on the subject, so you definitely know more about it, and we defer to that knowledge.

Fair enough! And no worries--that was more of a preemptive comment on my part than thinking you were trying to start a full-on debate or anything. I just know discussions in general have a tendency to spiral, and I just...am not up for that one.
