Another instance of manga freelancers in the television industry: the husband and I watched ep. 4 of Leverage tonight, and it was written by Christine Boylan. There aren't any other credits under her name in the IMDb, but I assume it's the same Christine Boylan who adapts Loveless and Wild AdapterI've/we've been trying a few new domestic shows ( Read more... )

You are correct. :-) Same Christine Boylan. When she's not adapting manga for me (she did Earthian too, among other, less popular things), she's an up-and-coming TV writer. She has great stories about the Leverage writer's room, which sounds like a riot and a half. (check out the show runner's blog! http://kfmonkey.blogspot.com/ )

I took three episodes to get into the new Doctor Who. The first two didn't thrill me (soooo cheesy!), but then the third totally hooked me and I never looked back.

That's very cool. ^_^ I love seeing manga people pop up in other places, and I really like her rewrites. (And that was a good episode we saw last night! ^^ I'm glad to hear she's on their regular staff.)

The blog looks a little spoilery for me right now, but I'll take another look once we're caught up. ^^

And that's a good sign about Dr. Who--I imagine we'll give it a couple more episodes, esp. since the husband's been wanting to get back to it.
