Furuba 126 scan and summary reaction
First chapter of the final volume. Meep. This one's *very* dialogue-heavy.
Kyo's father is a total lunatic. Not that this is a surprise, but . . . early on, it's creepy how much his face looks like Akito's when she's in one of her states. >.>
The images don't seem to support Kyo's admission of guilt over his mother's death--I wonder if maybe he's 'confessing' in an attempt to simplify things between himself and his father?
The first shot(s) of Akito are lovely; it's interesting to see her so feminine, and donning the masculine disguise. And yes, I'm very pleased with her decision about not confining Kyo. That's possibly one of the hugest things she could have done to indicate a sincere change of heart--that and the additional decision to have the Cat's room demolished. (My brain is bringing that back to Rin, of course. On the one hand, Rin isn't literally the first person Akito had confined . . . but what was done to Yuki is very different from what was done to Rin, at least from the outside perspective. Yuki was locked up to bind him to Akito, and was of course regarded as a favorite; Rin was sealed away out of Akito's sight in the traditional way of dealing with the family pariah. So I wonder if that had anything to do with Akito's [subconscious?] thought process, now that the Cat's room has been used in her lifetime, on her orders? Not that this would negate my wanting closure between her and Rin in the slightest.)
Kisa talking to Kyo is adorable--wasn't it not that long ago that she was being so pleased about having gotten up the courage to address him directly? And *everything* with her and Hiro is sweet, with his worry about her feelings about him changing now that he's uncursed (finally, an uncursed 12shi willing to actually *mention* it to someone!), and her pointing out that she could basically say the same (or the opposite) to him.
I also really like the moment where Kisa reminds Kyo of Tohru--wonder if it's the first time he's seeing her on her own, instead of as Tohru's adoring shadow?
