Hopelessly behind in reading fic of any kind. Loved this, though. Especially: Don't call me son." :-(

Nice job!

Can see Dean carry sorrow the way he does. Always on the inside, digging deeper, oceans of it soaking unsteady terrain.

Awesome line, describes Dean perfectly.

Tags to IMTOD and ELAC always make me hurt so bad for Dean. This is a perfect understanding of Dean's grief through Bobby's POV, the show is a good understanding from Sam's POV, but what makes me hurt so bad is that it isn't just grief Dean's holding in, it's fear and betrayal at his fathers last words. *sob*

Haa, /meta.

Anyway, I liked it a lot. :-)

Is it crossposted anywhere? singersalvage would be a good place for it. :-)

Oh, I didn't comment on this before? Loved it. You gave me a twisty hurty stomach and a lumpy bumpy throat. Thank you :)

Nicely done. Good Bobby voice here, and I like the different moments you chose to explore.

Favorite lines:

He thinks about grilling steaks for the boys once they wake up. Maybe a barbecue with a mean sauce. He thinks of coal and the steaks burning on top of it.

Ouch. Yeah, that wouldn’t be a good thing.

the boys are smooth and easy to live with, even draped with grief.

Nicely phrased.

And it’s the right order, Dean, the father before the son, it’s the right order. You gotta forgive him that. And you gotta forgive yourself that.”

*nods* It’s a hard thing, losing a parent, but it’s always better for the parent to go first. No parent wants to outlive a child.

Honour him with your grief and then get back to yourself and live.”

Wise words. *pets Bobby*

“Could get worse, could get better. It’s called life.”

More wise words, and this is what I love about Bobby, how he can be so blunt and loving at the same time.

I LOVE Bobby. Bobby is everything a person should be. Not fake, cutting to the point, knowing what real life should be about. No pretenses, not pseudo complexes, no nothing.

Thank you for reading!

Beautiful and sad and... well. Bobby, heh. I love how you've captured all of the fatherly aspects, but made it completely instinctive as well. I love the completely separate perspective on the boys grief.

Kudos :D
