My neighbor and two good friends (who you acutally know, I dont want to name them because I am not sure if they want it known) had it. Its a serious kick to the body and can be drastic and it leaves some small dammages (they never really said what, but they are perfectly fine), but its not as horrible in all cases as said. Just relax, as long as it was quickly treated its not dangerous.
The neighbor(8 year old girl) I had was in the hospital a few weeks and is since perfectly fine.

If you get into vicinity of ticks regularely, get a shoot against it. Helps the mind. My mum and I fret out whenever we have ticks, but if removed soon and without fever or coinsized red circle symptoms there's nothing to worry. Still hating those bugger though

Thanks for the info hun. it does kind of ease my mind some. ^^; I can get a little worked up when I am worried. Even just a bit more info helps than what I have found, as some how all the info I find on-line seems so scary.

They are, at least, already back from hospital and has been given really strong antibiotics.

Thanks hun *hugs* and yeah.. not many things on this planet I can say I hate, but ticks are one of them XD I actually have a little read scar/mark on my belly from one I had years ago. o.o

you are welcome dear :) if he's back, then it should be fine already.
And yes, ticks, spiders, despite hating them, I let them live unless they are in the bedroom (GIDOFF MAH CEILING!), but ticks, I'd stomp through a whole field and kill em.
If I get one I also squeeze them with a "DIE, YOU I(/UFJ&E*/&!!!"

Yes, someone very close to me had Lyme's Disease from a tick bite. It is very serious if left untreated, but easy to cure if caught early. The person noticed a small rash and got it diagnosed quickly, and suffered no ill effects at all. Not even a day of feeling poorly - just took a course of medication, and was completely cured.
