Fraser seems to have a need to tell this story; he tried to tell Vecchio, probably the first person he trusted enough, and then he told the priest because he just had to tell someone (I still maintain that Fraser is a Unitarian and not Catholic). I love this story because this time, someone was there to listen who wasn't a. sleeping or b. listening because it was his vocation. Fraser needs to tell the story, needs to cry like that. I bet he felt a lot better, right away. Yay Ray K, and yay you for writing it. :)

Yeah, I thought that, too. It's like, the one thing he hadn't dealt with and it kept haunting him. So now it won't feel so big and Ray knows and they can start with no secrets....

I'm glad you liked it.

This was lovely. And so much more than what I was hoping for! You managed to balance the angst and the hope beautifully.

Thank you. And I have a feeling you asked me to beta this and I never got back to you. Sorry, me and fan-stuff are not getting on at the momment. Maybe when my exams are over...

First? Don't apologise for getting an education and having a life. :)

Second? I'm glad you liked it. Best of luck with exams.

I love post-Ladies Man fics, and I equally love post-VS fics, of which this is arguably both. I have a hard time imagining Fraser breaking down like this, but that's because he's so buttoned up in season 3. I feel like RayK gets less of the real Fraser than Ray Vecchio, because Fraser is so wounded and lonely in his exile by the time RayK comes on the scene. I appreciate that RayK had to extract this story like pulling teeth, and equally as painful, because that for sure is true to Fraser's character. I also like that he kind of had to manipulate and guilt Fraser into it, appealing to his sense of fairness, because that's probably the only thing Fraser can't argue against. I love your writing and I'm glad you're getting back into it. =)

That was an awesome comment.

I totally understand about you not seeing Fraser this way. I had a long hard look at it myself. The thing that got me to that point was the fact that he was so OOC in regards to Victoria and I could see that coming out with the right conditions.

I honestly think RayK gets more of the human side of Fraser. I think that's one of those "open to interpretation" things that makes fandom so much fun.

Thanks heaps for the opinion. I really value it. :)

It's been a while since I saw this, and I enjoying reading it again, even more than before. It is touching on so many levels - the individual heartbreaks Ray and Fraser went through - those stories in themselves are beautifully told here. But it is the friendship, the sharing of secrets and especially Fraser letting down his guard that I love.

Yes, it is super angsty. But the ending is happy - both have reached a firmer level of peace after opening up to each other. And perhaps, they're now ready to move on and chance falling in love again. ;)

Yeah. And it'll be so much better because they understand each other and...*happy sigh*

I like making you enjoy stuff. That is my benchmark. Makes me happy. :)

Aww...I love this sweet little story. I like how Ray's weeping at the end of Ladies' Man becomes an opportunity for him to find out about the whole Victoria thing...and to comfort Fraser in like kind. (Hee--I said "in like kind.") Also, Platonic sleeping FTW! Soon to be not-so-Platonic, methinks, which wins even more. ;) I love kind, caring, sensible Ray. He healed something, there. ♥ ♥ ♥
