Probably a little late to some people, but i heard an interesting track at the Coven on Saturday and it made me go and ask Martin what it was....Abney Park with Sleep Isabella - Which is downloadable from the link.....I've since downloaded what i can and they seem really interesting....and oops i have a CD on its way from the states - I'd roughly ( Read more... )

I'd guessed the steam punk styling....Though the music is more fusion industrial than punky....but exceptionaly listenable too.

the problem many of the steampunk band getting hold of the CD..thank god for last fm..i can at least listen at work..Dr steel another under the steampunk hat is quite fun too

I've ordered one of thier site, they use paypal and stuff, so heres hoping it'll all be ok.

Though you can download quite a few tracks from thier site and to be honest i could find it via dubious means, but i prefare to have the origionals for quality - Not keen on lossy mp3 !

Sounds like Dead Can Dance with a drum machine/synth and grindy industrial guitar.

Hmm...DCD...Yeah. I get the Brendian Perry feel to the vocals....From your description, it would have me clammering to see them...but then i rather like DCD !

After listening to all 3 tracks it's essentially Dead Can Dance meets Linkin Park, but I'm not convinced by the song writing yet. So far it's registering as Another-Goth-Fad on my Next-Big-Thing-Ometer.

Of course I already have plans for the next big thing after SteamPunk:

Cave Goths!

The music will be very tribal, with lots of drumming. Fashion will be white and black furs, with glow sticks in the shape of clubs. Of course there will be lots of fire-related stuff as well - MaffBall will become the official Cave Goth past time.

All three....there are quite a few on that page...just three off the latest album....By the looks of it they have actualy been arround in the states for quite a while and look quite well polished.

click on the Abney park link and there are 2-3 off each album to get you started and a official bootleg of a concert....not bad for free !
