Don and Billy looked at the little baby that Emily, the surrogate mother, held in her arms. Don took his little Esther and kissed her.
“My niece is so beautiful. Congratulations Don.” Said Charlie
“She has my hair. She will be a hot-blooded girl. We will have our hands full.”
Don looked away from his daughter and smiled at his husband.
“Do you care Coop?”
Billy smiled and took his daughter from Don.
“Not in the least.”
Alan walked into the room with Colby and Jacob, his 2 years old grandson and Charlie’s and Colby’s son.
“Here you are! Emily, sweety, are you okay?”
“Fine Alan. Look at your granddaughter!”
“Alan, let me introduce to you Esther Margaret Eppes-Cooper.” Alan’s eyes were watery.
“She’s beautiful. And we will have a girl in the house, finally!”
“Lucky as we are, she will be a tomboy.”
“Bite your tongue, Charlie.” They laughed but they would learn soon that Charlie was right. And they wouldn’t change anything about Esther Margaret Eppes-Cooper the FBI agent or Jacob James Eppes-Granger the pianist.
