Dream Magic

The drought is essentially broken here; it's been raining almost daily for five days now. There were a couple of little showers before that. I called in those first showers, and they showed up right on time. I didn't think about it for a few days, then last week I did something else aimed at good soaking rain ( Read more... )

I wouldn't say the drought is over. We are way behind on rain fall. Today, at work, we dug up a water main to tap into it. The soil around the water main was dry as a bone, and hard as rock. It hole was only about 3 feet deep. So there is still a serious water shortage in the soil. The grass is growing like wild, but the plants that draw their water from deeper down are still quite stressed.

You're right, of course. Maybe I'll have to have another meeting with my Inner Child about more rain.

Doing magic in a dream with your Inner Child sounds like something teriel (Taylor Ellwood) would come up with. As in, something that makes your Skeptic go "Balderdash!" until you tell him to sit down in the back and shut up until he's called upon, and think about it a little more; then it's more like, "Of course, if that archetype resonates with you, then the interaction with it can activate the magical current."

Interestingly, I had a dream about you and Lili and Erik over the weekend.

You were living in a house that one couldn't actually drive to, and I was going to visit you. My mother knew your next door neighbor, and told us the best way to get there was to park at the mall, walk three blocks to a street with no name, and then take the left fork in the road, and I'd find you at the end of the cul-de-sac.

What this has to do with anything, I don't know. Other than maybe that a good friend of ours is travelling to a wedding in Montgomery this weekend, and there has been much discussion of Alabama, and people, and how not to offend the new in-laws. :-)

That's really funny. The description of how to get to our house is completely off, though :-)
