Dear Mother,

Thank you very much for your advice. It was very abusive helpful. I had not realized you had such a history with Lord Ambassador Servalle Dafydd; at least, I may only assume such, as I cannot understand why else he would draw from you such passionate and vituperous response ( Read more... )

Goodness. It's almost as if your dear mother remembers my younger, wilder days.

Mother's memory is exceedingly long.

If there were wild days to be remembered, I am most certain that there are partitions within her mind in which she holds those, encapsulated.

Though I confess that it rather disturbs me to think of mother as a wild young thing. Stolen ex-boyfriends aside.

Most troubling, I think, is the belief of the young that their elders sprang from the Deeps, fully-formed and elderly.

Well, I don't really think that.

But having walked in on mother en deshabille... I concede the wild young thing might be likely.

In which case, I can only rebel by being as I am: as unlike her as possible.

Hm. How to rebel further?

How can anyone not like the Ambassador?

He's such sweet teddy bear. Teddy blowfish?

That's what I keep saying! How could anyone not like the ambassador? He's the most marvelous person in his entire family.

Okay, I am not actually referring to him as a 'teddy bear', though, because I still find those unnerving.

I found him quite charming, actually. Mother just objects to my saying so.

I did have an inflatable blowfish toy which I carried with me everywhere as a tiny tot.

However, I do not think it much resembled Lord Ambassador Servalle Dafydd. If it did, I think he might object to my admitting such.
