We really weren't expecting such a large response to the idea, so we were a little under-prepared organisation wise for the idea of hosting such a large meet

It's only because this comm is made of win. Don't worry, we'll work it out. I'm voting for the second option because I want Westminster focus. If we found out people we especially wanted to meet were going on one or other of the meets, we could make our own choice as to which to attend, too...
I only say this because I really want to meet abluestocking, who I presume will NOT be jetting in from Obamaland, however much I will it. *sad eyes*
Awww, you are too sweet! I'd love to meet you too. :)
Actually, come to think of it, it's not entirely beyond the realm of possibility for me to be in London at the time of the meetup, as I may end up doing a short archives run across the pond at some point this summer. But the dates for that are entirely up in the air right now, so it would be an entirely fortuitous circumstance for them to coincide. I'll keep my fingers crossed! :D
So much the fucking SQUEE! Don't get my hopes up that I may be able to snog you for your delicious fics meet you.
OT: I'm putting off reading Charity, because I'm writing 6 politifics and fear your awesomeness may put me off my stride and make me wish to burn them. So will finish writing those first hopefully.
Heehee, I really hope it happens! Although I don't know how much work I'm going to be able to get done in the archives, with all the lovely London distractions to tempt me. :)
As far as Charity goes, take your time! It'll be there whenever you get to it. I'll be excited to see what you think of it whenever you do read it. :) And where are these 6 politifics you speak of? (I've gotten a little behind on keeping up with the meme recently - it's finals/grading time over here and my students are keeping me running.)
I probably wouldn't be able to come to this because I'm a poor Scottish heathen but are there any lolitician lovers north of the border who would be interested in a meet up?
It probably comes from my instant compulsion to never cause any trouble. Never want to make a fuss/be a hinderance (hindrance? :/) /safe person is uber safe haha.
Ha, stalk Carwyn? Is that even possible?! Yeah, let's do that and keep a look out for any Welsh politicians we can think of pairing with our Rt Hon. Slut for the unf lols. ;) Y'know, to make up for the lack of him in an RL!Westminster trip LOL.
I fear getting stranded somewhere I couldn't even place on a map (i.e. most of England), plus I'm always convinced I'll get on the wrong train. I never have, but it doesn't make the paranoia less acute. Lol.
I'm sure we could find a way. Or, possibly not if we don't want to be chucked out by security. It's all good. XD
They'd all be up for a bit of Clegg action, fighting amongst themselves for his attention, and cosying up to Kirsty in hope of her putting a good word in... :D
Personally, I'd be happy to hop on the Tube for 10-15 minutes to go up to Hyde or Regent's if 40 people really do want to come and they don't mind storming the Jubilee line either.
I'm nowhere near London but I lived there for yeas so just in case you don't have enough opinions.
Moving 40 or so people from HoC to Hyde Park really wouldn't take long. One or two groups on the tube to Marble Arch. It's a simple journey and you could even split down into groups of five or something if people are worried about getting lost. Just give out a few markers to people who know where they are going.

Come on people, we could hang around the Scottish parliament eating junk food and trying to bug the Reporting Scotland cameras!
