Japan remaking Ghost, and thus baffling me

How the hell did I miss that Japan is remaking Ghost?! With Song Seung Hun playing Swayze's part, and Matsushima Nanako playing Moore's part ( Read more... )

SSH is really really popular in Japan (I can't blame them, the man is smoking) so that is probably why.

I like the original in its cheesy glory but think a remake would be fun.

Matsushima Nanako - I adore her, she was the female lead in one of my all time fave dramas - Majo No Jouken.

Really? I must have missed that. I swear, the only k-stars I saw in Japan were DBSK and Bae Yong Jun (I love that he's still ridiculously popular there). Either way, I am not complaining. Man is smoking indeed!

I tend to intensely dislike remakes, since most of them are just bad. However most of the remakes I see are American remakes of American movies. Having a different cultural spin on it will make it interesting.

I hear she's quite a good actress, but I will never forgive her for taking Takashi off the market. Ignore that, I sound crazy ;P

I know what I think _ I think there was enough cheese in the original "Ghost". Enough. but then again, an Asian remake can be darker and less cheesy?
