No need to pretend! I was already watching it when I got your comment :D
I just finished episode 10 (I was waiting for episode 11 to watch 10 with subtitles), and am starting 11 now!

YAY FIC!! As I was watching the end of 10, I had a strong urge to read some of your Atadan fic *looks forward to more....*

Yay *high fives back*
No one ever DOES watch it, do they? I wonder why... There's violence, femmeslash (well, kinda), and total freaking psycho people, and cute boys... what more could you ask for?!

My guess is because it's mostly girls (and unknown actresses at the time -- you know if it'd been Miyazaki Aoi as the heroine, fandom would've been all over it).

It was quite popular in Japan, though!

I haven't seen SEVEN (yup SEVEN) of your top 10, but I agree on the other three:)
HYD seems to be everyones first doesn't it?

Hehe, no worries! I think for the most part my top ten are relatively obscure and not well known in the drama community. Like, I haven't run into more than one or two people who have seen Sekachu, LIFE, Summer Snow, or Byakuyako. Even Hachimitsu to Clover isn't watched much (a total travesty, in my opinion ;D )

HYD is a good first jdrama for people, since it's so well known! Also, it's just adorable, and well done, so that helps!

lol, I'm surprised that I've only fully (kind of) watched three out of ten, considering that I've been jdrama-crazy for six months now. lol, I think that its the fact that I dont finish 'iffy' or 'slice of life' dramas unless I know it has a fulfilling storyline, and doesn't have a love-chain that I find uncomfortable. Summer Snow and My Boss, My Hero I plan to finish one of these days. LIFE I plan to start and finish. But does Honey and Clover have a nice ending? and what *exactly* is it about? the summaries and reviews that I've found have been waaay too vague about it, for me to risk it ( ... )

I have a tendency to watch a lot of relatively unknown or unpopular dramas. I'm like, the only person I know of who has seen Sekachu, and I don't know more than 2 or 3 people who have seen Byakuyako, Summer Snow, LIFE, or even Hachimitsu to Clover. That's a good strategy though; why bother watching a whole drama if you know you're not going to be satisfied with it.

H&C is about a group of friends in an art college. It deals with them maturing, trying to decide what to do with their lives, and how they deal with their relationships. It's kinda sad, because they all are dealing with one sided, unfulfilled love. But it's portrayed very beautifully. It's based on a (very) popular manga, so you can read more about the story at the wiki pageKKK2003 is one of those dramas that tends to divide people; you either love it, or you hate it. The people aren't good, but I think that's why I liked it. I tend to like the shadier characters ( ... )

I'll definitely check out some of these, like Summer Snow & My Boss My Hero.

I caught this old-ish jdrama yesterday titled With Love featuring Takenouchi Yutaka as the male lead. It's probably the most genuine jdrama I've seen, in the sense that its characters and their problems are very realistic. No vengeful exes or other crazies that we've come to expect (and love). I was really touched.

It made me wonder how jdramas transformed from sober to crack!tastic. Though I don't mind the crack :)

DEFINITeLY watch MHMB. That show is amazing. Summer Snow is a tragedy, so not everyone is going to fall for it, but I loved it.

Oh, that drama sounds really good. I tend to like the older dramas, they often seem more genuine, and rely more on acting than on fancy sets and stuff. I think that's why I love Honey and Clover so much, it reminds me of an older drama, despite being recently made.

Hehe, I don't mind the crack at all either, and I don't know what I would do without it, but I still tend to prefer the quieter simple dramas.
