Too. Much. Manga!

May 27, 2009 14:44

I need to stop buying manga.

I went to the store today to buy the next Zettai Kareshi volume, and ended up getting;
Zettai Kareshi volumes 2 and 3 (What I went there for!)
Red River volume 1 (I got interested in it because the later volumes are all plastic wrapped, and say "mature content warning", which means it's going to get good...)
Wild Ones ( Read more... )

zettai kareshi, manga, wild ones, special a, la corda d'oro, red river

Special A :DDD !!! I love that one. Too overly fun and cute shoujo! I love Tadashi :3 It's made me LOL in real life a few good times for sure. I just finished reading it online a little while ago.

I want to read Zettai Kareshi and also Mei-chan no Shitsuji, but usually I'm less likely to read series that already watched. Though I know that dramas can't always follow the manga too though. (Like Cat Street manga was tons better than the drama, though the drama was still nice!) I wish I had more time for it!

I only read the first volume, but OMG I love it!! I especially like how the guy's name is Kei-kun, which reminds me of Marmalade Boy, and thus makes me happy... I'm still trying to decide if I should continue buying it, or read online (I don't like reading online that much, but it saves money!)

I really really like Zettai Kareshi so far. It's quite different than the drama, and the focus is more on Night and Riiko's relationship, which is good by me, since I adore Night. There's a manga for Mei-chan? That shouldn't surprise me...I'm actually more likely to read a manga after watching the drama. I do that with tv series or movies that were books too.
(Lisa told me that the manga was good, but I have yet to get around to it... I did love the drama though!)

That's the thing... time. I wish I could quit work and spend my days reading manga and watching dramas. Because that's not loser-ey at all...

It's true, it's saves money! I don't know if the whole series is released in US already or not, but I know it's completed in Japan right now.

I do like Kei too! It's one of those lovely relationships where she always calls Takashima haha XD The thing I love about Hikari is that she's so genuine yet totally oblivious and naive! A little bit like me lol (I don't think I'm THAT oblivious!)

I should definitely read them sometime! But like you said, makes me feel a bit like a greasy otaku if you'd do that XD

I love Special A! The anime far more than the manga, but they are both ADORABLE. (I really want to rewatch the anime soon.)

Whhaaaaaa?! ANIME?! *frantically searches online to download NOWWWWW*
I love manga, but I actually prefer watching the anime to reading the manga. Mostly because a lot of times in manga there's just too much text, or stuff going on. Skip Beat is probably the worst for that. Also, I'm an auditory person, so I like hearing the sounds and voices.

I actually watched the anime first, after downloading it randomly! And then many episodes in I was obsessed and impulsively ordered the first three volumes of the manga online. I thought it was very cute, but it was probably better to have seen it before the anime, because that's just really well done and ADORABLE. SO ADORABLE.

There's no such thing as too much manga! There's just not enough time for it all.

I love La Corda d'Oro, though I haven't finished it either. (I also haven't finished the anime. :X)

I haven't read Red River, but I LOLed at your comment. I do the same thing with movies. :P

A very good point! How can one possibly have too many books!?

I love it, but I think my not finishing it is because there is no set ship. I personally love Ren...

Hehehe! Well, it's true, you know! If something gets censored, it's probably good ;P

I don't think you can ever have too many books, though it can be an organisation nightmare. :P

I usually like it when an OTP is obvious (Makino/Domyouji & Mizuki/Sano for example), but I find series like La Corda refreshing. I think it's interesting to see how the heroine could be interested/involved with a variety of different people/personalities. (I love Kazuki, he's just so adorable.)

Reverse harems like Ouran & such are a not-so-secret kink of mine. (Your icon prompts me to mention that I've seen people refer to HYD as one, but I can't buy that. It's obvious from the beginning who Makino is going to end up with. XD)

Haruka(naru Toki no Naka De) is actually not that good - if you're wanting a story with a set couple or at least a favoured love interest, you're looking in the wrong place. Both it and La Corda are based on dating games and were designed to have multiple guys to pick from. I did a review on the anime here.

That said, I bought the first volume of the manga. :P

I didn't buy the Haruka one, I think the art bothered me... Either that or I was like "Inuyasho / FY rip off?! Noooooooo..." I forget.

I knew La Corda d'Oro was basedon a dating sim, which is one of the reasons I was slow to continue reading it. I don't mind couple ambiguity sometimes, but the fact that there really isn't an OTP as of yet bothers me...
Oh! Thanks for the link... will read :D
