I think most people who apply are American born Chinese, so it makes sense. Problem is I'm not Chinese... But it's pretty cool making up a new name for yourself! I have a Mandarin name (which I then translated into Japanese). I bet I could somehow translate it into Korean (through the characters) if I ever needed to!
Eh, I KNOW! My list is massive! I should shorten it for the same reason :D
Koreas don't really use the hanja all that much, do they? It seems unnecessary to learn them if they're not really used! That's the problem with Chinese... you kinda HAVE to learn the characters! I just use dictionaries! I did translate my name into Korean. It's something like "So Mi" (it said it was 소미)...
Hehe! I understand that! It must be more confusing for Korean though! It seems like everyone wants to learn Japanese, and Mandarin is pretty widespread, but not a whole lot of people seem to be learning Korean...
