I liked McCain (emphasis on past tense), back when Bush first won. McCain was one of those rare Republicans who actually had the balls to criticize fellow Republicans. But I don't know what happened to him over the years; he has become such a lying asshole that I can't comprehend anyone voting for him who isn't: (1) voting solely on the basis of the abortion issue (2) voting solely by party (3) racist (4) scary rednecks, et al. (5) absolutely fucking batshit crazy.
I loooooove Bill Clinton. I would totally do Bill Clinton.
I never follow local elections. Like, AR is super Democratic (local election-wise), but our Democrats are probably comparable to your Republicans. So I have the choice between: a super crazy conservative Republican, a pretty damn crazy conservative Democrat, and sometimes a weird (and possibly crazy) third party candidate (like the one dude who's a grad student. a GRAD STUDENT). I already know that I'm not going to LOVE any of our candidates, so..why bother?
I think it was probably a combination of age, and trying to please everyone. As much fun as it is to criticize politicians, it must be a hell of a job, always trying to please people, and yet having a ton of people hate you. I still feel kinda bad for McCain. I weirdly think of him as a grandpa.... And his concession speech was just really classy. It made me like him more.
Hahaha! You would! (I can't think of any politician I'd do... well, no current politician I'd do. I would have done Jefferson, and any of the Kennedys).
Grad student?! Hehehehe. I don't pay much attention to REALLY local stuff, but I pay attention to stuff like US senate and congress. I love both our senators! Who DOESN'T love Ted Kennedy (well, besides creepy conservatives)?!
I think a lot of the negativity coming from his campaign was because of his...campaign manager, or someone like that. Which makes me kind of feel bad for him, but it was still his choice to approve totally inappropriate/terrible ads, and continue to spout lies about Obama, etc. (Did you not pay much attention to McCain's campaign...? Because it was on the level of Karl Rove, and the Swiftboat crap about Kerry. Actually, Karl Rove said that McCain's campaign went TOO FAR. You KNOW it's bad when fucking Karl Rove is criticizing you
