Jane Eyre and Me

My interest with Jane Eyre was rekindled when I bought a DVD of the 1970 movie (Susannah York and George C. Scott) a few years ago. Bits of scenes and feelings and emotions overwhelmed me. I remember reading and analyzing it in a high school Lit class. I didn't remember any of it. I absorb stories better when I read because I want to. I hate analyzing. I'm not sure if it's because I have such a hard time getting my thoughts out of my head or if I just plain don't like debates or maybe I just don't like to look deep into anything. I prefer to read a book or watch a movie and take away from it whatever I end up taking away. I don't want to dig into it and find some hidden, "real" meaning. Call me shallow. Pffft ( ... )
