I picked up clear address labels from Office Max ($8 for 300) and I'm using the same font used on the invitations to print out addresses. A little more time consuming but SO much nicer.

You could also try to find books from the library on calligraphy or something and try to use those to improve your handwriting on the project. It'd be pretty time-intensive, but if you've got the time/drive ... :)
