:-/ It sucks that your parents don't like Joe, but the optimist in me thinks, "They just got married, they have the rest of their lives to spend together, which means her parents have the rest of THEIR lives to see how great he is."

I mean, it's kind of how I view the situation with my parents and my current boyfriend. They haven't come out and said anything directly about disliking him, but they've said at different points that they hope I realize I don't have to be in a relationship and that it's a bad thing if I'm dating him just to be dating someone ... all in a condescending tone and such. But Nathan is a good guy, and great for me -- it's just taking them longer to see that than I would like for it to, but I have faith that they will realize it one day.
