Gothic Lolitas. What you get when you mix fairy tales, the novel Lolita, goth and Japan. It is scary and to be feared. As a goth, I have watched these bastard stepchildren like Steve Irwin used to watch crocodiles. Every so often you go into their territory, look around and poke them with sticks ( Read more... )

You know, I can sew, and I keep thinking I really ought to go into this gothic lolita shit business. It looks REALLY easy to make, doesn't have to look very good, and I can charge $300 for something it took me $50 to make. Win-win!

IAWTC. I used to display my costumes at the fabric store where I worked, and some guy offered me $500 for something that took a day to make and only cost about $100. Jesus.

You wouldn't get very far, we're picky about quality, because it isn't easy to make and DOES have to look good. Most handmade clothes doesn't sell as much as the brand name does..

Ignore the OP's pictures and look up REAL lolita clothes, not the fug punk dress she posted (that a real lolita would snark as well)

When you look at the real clothes people will pay $300 for, you'll realize why we'll pay for a very high quality very limited item, just like any other fashion brand whore.

Non brand clothes most lolitas wouldn't pay more than $100 for, and that's even for a good quality replica.

OP learn your shit before you go making claims about the fashion, because it's obvious to any real lolita that you have no clue what you're talking about.

That outfit makes that perfectly adorable girl look frumpy and much bigger than she actually is.

The dress? funk ugly.

The pink stuff? meh. Its pink.

The shoes? Are kinda hot, and I'd wear them. Probably only the once, when I do my undead geisha bit for halloween, like I do every year, but honestly, I don't think they're that bad. At least it looks like you can walk in them.

Actually, with a sort of dead geisha look, those shoes would be neat. These girls wear them to work and school though, which is just... :;boggles::

I would buy the last set for a little girl.

Otherwise there's just something inherently fug about grown ass women wearing some of this stuff. I've seen some really cute victorian inspired dresses and skirts stuff that didn't have to look just this side of humiliating.

Because wandering around in public looking like you think it's dignified to carry a pink bunny purse does in no way liken you to Paris Hilton.
