After work I was invited out for a drink with my work colleagues. It was a good time, didn't feel too awkward and I got to know some of the guys a little better. One guy became a lot more chatty...after a few drinks ( Read more... )

There's huge variety in the sorts of complaints/illnesses the patients have, however--yes, House is very formulaic. The team find a new patient, discuss the problem, do tests, guess one diagnosis. Wrong. Try a second drug for a second diagnosis. wrong. It's always the third malady/drug/solution that solves the problem. And while they sound medically astute (and don't get me wrong, I watched House for about five years) their medical info is often weird, off the wall or just plain wrong. lol

Hehe, yeah, I'm starting to see that pattern. I mean, the random episode I saw was in season 4 and that's how it played out...good episode though.

But yeah, I'll stick with it for a bit I think. See how the first series goes.

I don't mind formulaic if it's a good show otherwise. Don't forget, it was made to be watched once a week, not several episodes in a row. I adore House, just don't have time to blitz through my DVDs yet.

Can't wait to hear what you think about Mad Men, though! That's my new most favourite thing in the world.

I'm fine with formulaic, I'm an A Team fan! XD. But yeah, it's true it's not meant to be watched all at once. But I am enjoying it so far.

Here's hoping the guy remembers to lend me it today.
