They’d known all along that Djaq believed in something different to them. But now it had fresh meaning. It meant that, maybe, they would not end up in the same place when they died. Which might be very soon, considering what they were about to do.
Much tried to picture it.
A heaven without Djaq.
Without her laugh, her smile. Without her face.
Without...her...
Djaq, left alone....
Much tried to picture getting through one day without her, let alone an eternity.
He couldn’t do it.
A heaven without Djaq, would be no heaven at all.
