[Contest] February 2006 Community Challenge
For the month of February, uchihaprodigy is holding a theme contest! Basically, the whole way it works is people submit entries for the given theme, and for some of the forms that have enough entries there will be awards. The forms of entries varies; Since this is a general contest, it can be any form: icon, drabble or fanfic, essay, fanart, graphic manips, etc. Any way you want to answer the theme in, you can. As long as it applies to the theme. It being February, the theme is an obvious and general one.
The theme is Love. Or something (not quite) like it.
The theme is open to interpretation.
General Entry Rules
[1] All entries must be received by Wednesday, March 1st, 2006 at 12:01am PST. The deadline has been extended to Sunday night, March 5th.
[2] The entry must apply to the theme. The interpretation can be liberal.
[3] Since this contest is hosted by an Uchiha Itachi community, entries must be Itachi-related.
[4] There is no limit to how many ways you can enter this contest. If you want to enter icons as well as fanfic and banners, that's cool.
[5] There is a limit of six times you can enter in each form. If you want, you can submit six icons and six more drabbles and a couple banners or other things, it's cool.
[5] Entries will all be posted in the community, so therefore they must abide by the rules of the community. See the rules [ here ].
[6] Do not obviously ask people to vote for you. You can make a note with your entries, of course, but no voting campaigns.
[7] Entries should be new for the challenge.
Some forms of entries are subject to further rules. See below.
Icon Entry Rules
[1] Icons must fit LJ standards: 100x100 pixels or less, 40k or less.
[2] Icons are the only form of entry that will be submitted anonymously. To this end, do not host or display your icon where your friends can find it, and please do not post on icon communities until after voting is finished. LJ userpics is not the place to host your icon.
[3] Icons will be submitted to a screened post instead of posted. [ Click here. ]
Fanfic and Drabble Entry Rules
[1] Fanfic and drabbles must be completed by the deadline.
[2] They should also have titles. Anything, really, to help with identification for voting.
[3] Include a word count, genre, rating and warnings. It's also polite to state which characters and pairings are included, but omissions are understandable if the mystery is a part of the read.
Submitting Entries
[1] Post your entry in the community. Although for fics and graphics they can be posted elsewhere, do not just link to them where they are posted elsewhere -- put them in the post. (Icons are the one exception; Do not post icon entries in the community.)
[2] The subject should start with "[Contest]" followed by the form it is, i.e. "drabbles" or "banners" etc.
[3] Put the content beneath an lj-cut.
[4] For anything that requires a warning, clearly mark the warning outside the LJ-cut.
Pimping
For any entry besides icons, you're free to post your entries elsewhere during the duration of the contest. In fact, I encourage you to do so. And somewhere before or after your thing, make a big note about how it's a contest entry for the uchihaprodigy February 2006 Contest.
Yes, I'm serious! Pimp the hell out of this, we'll need the entries!
Voting
Voting will take place at the beginning of March using open polls. The results will be viewable to all to ensure fairness. A deadline for voting will be announced when the polls are posted.
Voting will only be held for form categories that have three or more entrants (not entries, but participants). For categories that have three to six entries, only a first place winner will be selected. For categories with seven or more entries, a first, second, and third place winner will be chosen.
Winners!
Winners will be announced publicly at the end of the voting period. They will win nifty banners, a place in uchihaprodigy history, and bragging rights. Really, what more could you want out of life?
And we might have other prizes. It's still under discussion. XD
